» Diesel Off 23% From Year Ago Prices Permalink

According to an analysis of diesel fuel pricing from the Energy Information Administration by Longbow Research analyst Lee Klaskow, diesel fuel declined 1.8% from last week.  “Diesel prices have now fallen by roughly 45.1% from the July 14 peak of $4.764 per gallon, and are 23.4% below the same period last year, Mr. Klaskow said.  “The decline in average prices represents the 23rd sequential decline in the last 27 weeks and the fifth consecutive week of year-over-year contraction following over 14 months of increases.”

According to Longbow Research transportation analyst Lee Klaskow, an analysis of Energy Information Administration data shows the price of diesel has declined $0.18 in the last week and 27% since July, to an average national price of $3.482 per gallon.  See summary below.  Mr. Klaskow said that despite recent moderation, prices are still 12.5% above the same period last year.
